VistaBird 0.4 – My Theme-in-Progress
Written by Josh on Saturday, September 6th, 2008Songbird is coming along nicely and 0.7 is better then ever. If it wasn’t for the hideously bad memory usage (150mb while idle) than I think there’s a fair chance it could really take off. It’ll be interesting to see what the version 1 release in December is going to be like.
One thing they’ve done extremely well is to create a number of easy to use tools for anyone to create their own extensions and themes. I’m no programmer but creating a theme is simple enough; just a bit of mucking around with CSS and images.
The new UI is great, but I was looking for something a little more appropriate for usage on Windows Vista. Here is a screenshot of my work on progress for achieving that:
There’s actually more going on then you can see from the screenshot here. If you use Songbird and have updated to the latest version you can install it and have a look:
